PHILOSOPHY CLUB
hosted by Mr. Jason Streitfeld
What is beauty? What is justice? What is truth? Philosophy is the love of wisdom, but it is often practiced by questioning and challenging everything we know and believe. Each month in the Philosophy Club, will we discuss an important work or idea in the history of philosophy. Students can suggest specific topics, and all students are encouraged to share their own ideas. The primary goal of the club is to enjoy philosophy. The atmosphere should be relaxed and friendly, so we can all share ideas with respect and kindness, even when those ideas seem a little crazy or bizarre. Interested students can also prepare to compete in regional and national competitions. The best student philosophers in Poland will be invited to compete in the International Philosophy Olympiad. Even if you do not wish to compete, the Philosophy Club can be an opportunity for D2 and D3 students to explore issues raised in TOK class. For the rest of you, the Philosophy Club can be a fun way of introducing yourselves to philosophy.
Meetings will be held once a month.
